Here's what we were working with - a lake edge completely taken over by overgrown weeds, scattered loose rock, and a shoreline that had no real definition to it. It's a super common situation on residential lakefront properties. Water levels shift, vegetation spreads, and before long the whole edge just looks like a mess.
The goal was to clear out all that overgrowth and bring in fieldstone boulders to create a clean, defined waterline. Fieldstone is a great choice for this kind of work. It's natural-looking, it holds its position well, and it gives the shoreline actual structure instead of just a muddy, undefined drop-off into the water.
Once the overgrowth was removed and the bank was graded out, we set the fieldstone boulders along the entire water's edge. The difference in definition is pretty striking. What used to look like an unmanaged, eroding bank now has a solid, polished edge that sits cleanly between the yard and the water.
This kind of shoreline restoration work does more than just look better. A well-placed stone edge helps slow erosion, keeps the bank from washing out, and makes the whole waterfront more functional - especially if you're using it for swimming, docking, or just sitting near the water. It's the kind of upgrade that pays off every single season.
We do this work because a clean shoreline is something a property owner should actually get to enjoy. If your lake edge is looking rough and undefined, this is exactly the kind of work we specialize in.
