Some spots around the house just get ignored. The area running along the foundation is usually one of them - grass creeping in, weeds taking over, no real definition between the lawn and the house. It looks rough, and the longer it sits, the harder it is to deal with.

Here's what we did. We came in, cleared everything out, and started fresh. New weed fabric went down first to block what was growing underneath. Then we layered in rock and finished it off with clean edging along the border. That edging is what really pulls it together - it creates a hard line that keeps the lawn from creeping back into the bed.

The result is a foundation line that actually looks intentional. No more scraggly grass brushing up against the siding. No more weeds poking through every other week. Just a clean, structured bed that holds its shape and barely needs any upkeep going forward.

That's the real win with this kind of work. Rock doesn't break down like mulch does, and the fabric underneath does the heavy lifting so you're not out there pulling weeds every season. It's one of those upgrades that pays for itself in time saved alone.

If you've got a bed like this sitting around the side or back of your house, it's worth addressing. We do this kind of work regularly - fabric, rock, edging, and cleanup - and the difference it makes to the overall look of a property is significant.
